Job Description:

We currently have a new opening for an exceptional Oracle Database Administrator in our Information Technology Department.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, team oriented culture where individual contributions make a difference!

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Provide 24X7 support for production OLTP and DSS Databases
  • Database monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Development and implementation of logical and physical database designs for all projects
  • Provide advice to team members on the effective use of database techniques and technologies
  • Evaluate and recommend new procedures, software and hardware to support the growing needs of the business
  • Develop and maintain database related documentation, procedures, guidelines and architectural diagrams
  • Coordinate with the development and operations teams on the resolution of database-related issues
Required background and qualifications include:
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or 4+ years of related work experience
  • 4+ years hands on DBA experience on Oracle 9i/10g in a production Linux environment
  • Experience with high volume OLTP Databases
  • PL/SQL development and experience tuning queries
  • Experience implementing high availability solutions utilizing Oracle RAC.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (preferably Korn Shell) preferred
  • Experience implementing backup strategies utilizing RMAN preferred
  • Experience implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions utilizing RMAN and Data Guard preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Grid Control and/or Oracle Streams preferred
  • Data Warehousing experience preferred
  • Experiencing administering Oracle in a Microsoft Windows environment preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently within a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential to this position.
